We got out first Mini Challenge win!

I was joined by a new co-driver for this round, as Jack Morris was committed for the rest of the year. Harriet Worth took to navigating in his place, and I was immediately impressed with her abilities, attitude and confidence as a rally competitor, and already with this skillset at 16!

We started easy on the first 3 stages, building up our pace and getting into a rhythm. The stages were incredibly quick, and in those 3 rounds, Harriet was spot on with the pace and I started to get a good feel of the car and the surfaces we were dealing with.

We were hovering around 7th and 8th by the time stage 5 came around, and due to mechanical failures of other cars and us getting faster and faster on each stage, Harriet and I started to climb the standings. Stage 6 and 7 saw us set a fastest time in the Minis, and on 7 there were several bad incidents due to a very large curb on a slalom section that caught people out. We were in second by the end of stage 7, and on the tail of the championship leaders, Mick Smith and Paul Stringer. I asked Ben and Nathan from WB motorsport if I should try for the win, to which both gave a resounding "Go for it".

As it happened, Mick lost 2nd gear on the final stage, and Harriet and I were flowing through the stage, every corner was perfect, and when we got to the end, the brakes were smoking hot! We got back to the paddocks and waited for the news, which was filled with cheers! We'd done it! Harriet and I just couldn't believe it! We had a podium celebration with the Mini Challenge teams and organisers and celebrated with a trophy. What an amazing day and event - not possible I might add without the incredible car and services from WB Motorsport! Next, on to a test day in Dolgellau before hitting our first gravel Multi-venue Rally, with Harriet joining me again for our biggest challenge yet, no doubt! Pirelli Plains Rally, here we go!
