Rally Test in Dolgellau

I made the drive up to Dolgellau to meet with WB Motorsport to test our gravel set up for the Pirelli Plains Rally coming up on the weekend. We were in great company, joined by several other Mini challenge competitors and more, including a few R5 cars and even a WRC spec Ford Focus! 

Harriet popped down to test with me for the day, so that we could both get a feel for the new, strange surface that is gravel! The test was very successful for most of the day. We pushed the pace and got faster and faster! 

Unfortunately, on one of the stages we went a bit too quick for one corner! We went off track and were 'beached' off the side of the track. We got recovered and went out for one more go before having to stop again because of a gearbox issue. 

Amazingly, the WB Crew took the car back to Stafford and rebuilt the gearbox that night, and drove back the following day! Harriet and I know that Pirelli Plains is going to be a tough rally, and with reverse seeding, putting us near the front (3rd car out), we're certain grip is going to be the biggest challenge.
